Bluechip User Guide
Practice Settings

The Practice window of BC Secure contains all of the details that pertain to your Practice's Bluechip licence.

o      Licencee should be the name of the principal Practitioner i.e. the owner of the licence. This field can be modified without needing to contact MedicalDirector.

o      Practice Name is the name of the practice. It may be the same as the name of the licencee, or it may be different. This information forms part of the key that governs the validity of your registration. If you modify this field, then it will be necessary to contact MedicalDirector to update your registration.

If you modify this field, but fail to notify MedicalDirector of the changes, then your registration will be noted as invalid, the Practitioner Limit will be set to zero. You will then not be able to log into Bluechip until the registration has been updated.

 

o      Practice Address can be modified without needing to notify MedicalDirector.

o      MedicalDirector Customer No. is your practice's identification number in HCNs Customer Relations Management (CRM) database. This field is read-only, and can only be modified if you are updating your registration.

o      Serial No. is your practice's Bluechip serial number. With the prefix BCP, it also forms your Minor ID, if you transmit bulk claims using Medicare Online. This field is also read-only, unless you are updating your registration.

o      Practitioner Limit is the number of Practitioners you may have in your Bluechip system. This field can only be modified in the process of updating your registration, in conjunction with MedicalDirector staff. Increasing your Practitioner limit will incur a fee.

o      Tenant Limit is the number of tenant practitioners you may have in your Bluechip system.

o      Registration Expiry refers to the date on which your Service Licence Agreement is due to be renewed. This field can only be updated as part of the process of updating your registration, and must agree with the matching field in MedicalDirector's CRM database.

o      Indicate whether you want user passwords to expire, and then set the expiry interval (a minimum of 30 days is offered, with increments of 30-day periods available, to a maximum of 360 days).

o      The Modules check boxes indicate which of the add-on modules have been enabled for your Bluechip installation. Modules include:

       Bluechip Reporter - a customisable reporting program that outputs to MS Excel;

       BC Reporter - an easy-to-use reporting module that has been designed to complement and extend the reporting capability provided by Bluechip.

       Background Services - the means by which you can make Bluechip print reports in the background, allowing you to keep using the program while you wait for a report to be printed. These settings can only be changed as part of updating your registration.

 

o      The coloured light indicates the validity status of your registration. A green light indicates that your registration is Valid; a yellow light indicates that your registration has been modified, but has not been verified yet; a red light indicates that your registration is Invalid.

o      If your registration is invalid, then you will need to contact MedicalDirector as soon as possible, because it will be impossible to log into Bluechip until the problem has been rectified.

o      You will need to read the customer no, serial no and practice name to support staff, as well as things such as SLA expiry, Practitioner limit and activated modules. The support employee will compare the information you give them with the information stored in MedicalDirector's system make any necessary changes, and generate a key.

The Update Bluechip Registration dialogue box indicates whether you need to ask for an extended registration key, or just a replacement registration key.

1.      Enter the supplied numbers into the Registration Key field and then click on Verify. If the number has been entered correctly, and there are no discrepancies, then the Registration Key field will turn green.

3.      A box appears, indicating that your registration has been updated successfully. Click to return to the Practice window.
