By flagging a patient as inactive, you can hide them from view and standard patient searches, whilst storing and allowing access to their clinical data. You might select this option if for example a patient has moved and no longer has access to your surgery. Patients marked in this way can be reactivated easily, as explained following.
1. Either;
o Select Patient > Open from the Clinical main screen, or press F2 to open the Select Patient from List window, highlight the patient in question and press Delete or
o Select Patient > List from the Clinical main screen, or press F10 to open the Patient Database, highlight the patient in question and press Delete
2. The Delete Patient window appears.
3. Click Mark as Inactive. The patient record will be removed from the list.
Either:
o Select Patient > Open from the Clinical main screen, or press F2 to open the Select Patient from List window, and tick the Include Inactive Patients check box, or
o Select Patient > List from the Clinical main screen, or press F10 to open the Patient Database. Using the drop-down menu at the top of the Patient Database window, select Inactive Patients.
Either:
o Select Patient > Open from the Clinical main screen, or press F2 to open the Select Patient from List window, and tick the Include Inactive Patients check box. Search for and open the patient record in question. Opening the patient record automatically flags the record as 'active', or
o Select Patient > List from the Clinical main screen, or press F10 to open the Patient Database. Using the drop-down menu at the top of the Patient Database window, select Inactive Patients. Locate and highlight the patient in question and click Note that the this button is only available when viewing Inactive Patients.
