The following password security settings are global, shared between MedicalDirector Clinical and Pracsoft users.

1.      Select User > Password Security Settings from the main menu. The Password Policy window is displayed.

2.      Configure the Password Policy using the following settings:

o      Password Compositions: Indicate which composition requirements are to be met.

o      Minimum Password Length: 6

o      Maximum Password Length: 20

o      Login Retry Limit: Indicate the number of logon attempts each user is permitted.

o      Reuse Past Password Restriction: Indicate the number of times a user can reuse a previous password.

o      Expiry Days: Indicate the duration (in days) a password remains active until it must be changed. For example, enter '365' if you would like users to change their password once a year, or enter '180' for every 6 months. We recommend you change passwords every 3 months (the default 90 days).

 

3.      Click OK to confirm the Policy.
