Appointment Book
  • Creating and editing patient records via the Appointment Book
  • Improved 'Select Patient' window:
    • Added search criteria: 'Date of Birth', 'Known as', 'Middle Name', DVA and Entitlement card numbers, phone numbers.
    • It is no longer necessary to complete the Medicare card number to perform a search.
  • New global option to default the Consultation time (when recording a visit) to the same time as the scheduled Appointment.
  • The next scheduled appointment for an existing patient is now shown in the Select Patient window, and when editing their record.
  • Phone numbers (and other appointment information) are now retained when creating, updating, or linking appointments to patient records.
eClaiming
  • MedicalDirector PracSoft 3.17 certified for Medicare Online claiming, June 2014 release
    • Updated Client Adaptor to June 2014 specification
    • Printed statements updated to the latest version, as per legislative requirement
    • Introduced new referral override type codes: 'Not required' and 'Remote Exemption'
    • New URL for Medicare Online Transactions for improved performance
  • Filtering claim processing reports received from Medicare
    • Claim processing reports received from Medicare can be filtered to optionally show: fully paid services, fully paid services with explanations, overpaid and underpaid services and services that were not paid.
    • Users can choose whether or not they would like to print a list of claim processing reports for which service items are not matching selected criteria and were excluded from printing.
    • If no filtering option is selected, claim processing reports will not be sent to the printer.
  • Streamlined resetting and resubmission of claims
    • Passwords are no longer required when resetting Bulk Bill and DVA claims via Medicare Online and resetting/resubmitting Bulk Bill claims via Medicare EasyClaim
    • It is now possible to reset multiple Bulk Bill, Bulk Bill - EasyClaim and DVA claims at the same time
    • Audit log listing the claims that have been reset within specified period of time
  • Improved service item ordering when recording visits
    • Users can now order service items as required by Medicare
    • Derived Fee column in the PracSoft's MBS file is being used to aid sorting of the 'derived fee' service items
  • Implemented Medicare's Online claiming transmission validation rules
    • Patient and claimant names and surnames for Patient, Bulk Bill and Same Day Delete claims are being validated based on Medicare's validation rules and corrected if necessary prior to claim transmission, allowing for faster claim processing, less claim rejections and no delays in payments.

  • Introduced opt-in Service Improvement Program data collection in order to enhance MedicalDirector's product suite and provide better Customer Care experience
