Bluechip User Guide
Creating Colour Schemes

The Colour tab of User Preferences allows you to modify the colour of various components of the Bluechip interface. Combinations of colours can be saved as 'schemes', and selected at will or saved as the default for a given user.

1.      Ensure you are logged in to Bluechip as yourself - changes you make to User Preferences are User-specific. To see which user is logged on to Bluechip, check the User Name at the bottom left-hand corner of the Bluechip main window.

2.      Select Setup > User Preferences. The Setup User Preferences window appears.

3.      Click the Colours tab.

4.      From the Colour Schemes drop-down menu, select the colour scheme you wish to use as the basis for a new one. If you have never created a colour scheme before, only the default Bluechip schemes will be available - you must base your new scheme on one of these.

5.      Click to copy the selected colour scheme. The Create Copy of Colour Scheme prompt appears.

6.      Enter a name for your new colour scheme. Note that it is possible to have multiple schemes with the same name. Click when you are ready to continue.

7.      Your new colour scheme appears in the Colour Schemes drop-down menu, and you can now proceed with choosing colours for the various components of the Bluechip interface.

8.      To select an element of the Bluechip interface to change the colour of, either:

o      Click the element in the sample window, or

o      Select the element from the Element drop-down menu.

9.      The colour currently associated with the element will appear in the colour swatch at the bottom-right on the window. In the example above, the Background Bottom element has a colour of Blue (RGB: FF0000). To apply a new colour to the selected element, either:

o      Click on a colour in the large colour swatch, or

o      Click the colour sample at the bottom-right of the window. An advanced colour selector will appear, from which you can select a new colour.

10.   The selected colour is immediately applied to the selected element. Continue applying colours to elements until you are ready to save your colour scheme.

11.   When you are satisfied with the colours you have selected, either:

o      Click to apply the colours to Bluechip, and keep the Setup User Preference window open, or

o      Click to apply the colours to Bluechip and close the Setup User Preference window.
