The ATSI Health Assessment is provided to assist you with the early detection, diagnosis and intervention of common and treatable conditions that can cause considerable morbidity and early mortality in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

ATSI Health Assessment functionality in Clinical consists of;

• ATSI Prompt: This appears on opening the record of a patient who is determined to be eligible for the ATSI Health Assessment. From this prompt you can initiate the ATSI Health Assessment wizard. This prompt can also be disabled for a given patient via Prompt/Preventive Health Options.
• The ATSI Health Assessment wizard: This questionnaire can be initiated via the ATSI Prompt, or called at any time from within an eligible patient's Clinical Window, via Assessment > ATSI Health Assessment. The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) provides for an ATSI Health Assessment for MBS item numbers 715.

If during the ATSI Health Assessment the patient is found to have a condition or illness that requires immediate treatment, a separate consultation item may be billed and the claim for this attendance item should be annotated to indicate it was not related to the ATSI Health Assessment. Otherwise defer the completion of the ATSI Health Assessment until any test results are available.

ATSI Health Assessment Wizard

• The ATSI Health Assessment Wizard can be initiated via the ATSI Prompt, or called at any time from within an eligible patient's Clinical Window, via Assessment > ATSI Health Assessment. Before performing an ATSI Health Assessment you should ensure the patient's Details, Current Medications, Family History and Immunisations are accurate and up-to-date. Furthermore, the patient (or carer) must be provided with an explanation about what will happen in the ATSI Heath Assessment and how it is likely to help them.
• When you first access the ATSI Health Assessment, Clinical determines if an incomplete ATSI Health Assessment exists. If so, you will be prompted to either complete the existing ATSI Health Assessment or perform a new one.
• When you have completed the ATSI Health Assessment Wizard for a given patient, and confirmed this by enabling the ATSI Health Assessment Completed checkbox on the last screen of the Wizard, upon clicking the Finish button the assessment will be saved and appear as an entry on the Letters tab of the patient's Clinical Window and a Progress Note will be recorded to advise that Patient consent to have the ATSI Health Assessment was given and that an ATSI Health Assessment has been performed and completed.
• You can save an assessment mid-way, and return to it at any time by recalling the ATSI Health Assessment Wizard via Assessment > ATSI Health Assessment. If you wish to save an incomplete assessment, navigate to the last page of the Wizard and ensure that the ATSI Health Assessment Completed checkbox remains disabled. Then, upon clicking the Finish button the assessment will be saved and a Progress Note will be recorded to advise that Patient consent to have the ATSI Health Assessment was given and that an ATSI Health Assessment has been performed but not completed.
• The ATSI Health Assessment Wizard consists of a multi-page form in which you enter your patient's details, medical history and medical examinations. All information requested in the ATSI Health Assessment is mandatory - if you are unable to complete a field, please enter Nil, N/A or Unknown.

Upon reaching the last page of the ATSI Health Assessment Wizard, you will be given the opportunity to;

• Print a Health Assessment Summary, and/or
• Add the patient to the Recall database for another ATSI Health Assessment later.
