Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pathology request
Based on advice from our Chief Medical Officer we have made the
following changes in Helix:
1. Within the patient's record, locate and click to call the Consult panel.
2. Select
from top of the Consult panel. The Pathology Request panel opens.
3. Record the tests required.
o Type within the supplied text field to generate a list of matching available tests.
o Accepted synonyms appear in brackets.
o You
can also add these tests to your favourites by clicking This adds
the test(s) to the favourites panel at the far right of the pathology
request panel.
You can save the test to your favourites lists by giving a name
to the favorite to identify the tests. Clicking on button adds it to the
favourites section.
Hovering over the icon next to the favourite name displays information
about the test(s) added to list.
The pathology favourites list is sorted alphabetically. Any test
added to the current list will get sorted accordingly. For example,
if you then add the Allergy Test
to the existing favourites, it gets added to the top of the favourites
list.
4. Add
any clinical notes as necessary.
5. Indicate
if you wish to copy the report to another HCP.
Type within the supplied text field to generate a list of matching
available HCPs. If the required HCP is not found, you can add
them here.
6. Record
the date on which the request was made.
7. Optionally
indicate if the request is urgent. If ticked, the Practice's phone
and fax number are printed on the request.
8. Select
a provider from the list.
9. Click
to print the request. The
request is printed, and added to the Actions
section of the Consult Panel.
The pathology favorites can be edited by clicking the Edit option on the vertical ellipsis on the favorites panel at the far right.
Clicking the Delete option will remove the test from the list of favorites.
Clicking on edit brings the edit screen and allows you the edit the Name of the favourite and add/remove tests. Click to make the changes.
Clicking on the favourite list brings the updated tests on the pathology request panel.
You can delete pathology favorites by clicking the Delete option under the vertical ellipses.
Clicking on delete, you will be prompted with a confirmation to delete the favourite.
The selected favourite will now be removed from the list of favorites.
Saved pathology requests are displayed in the Actions section of the Consult panel.
When pathology results are returned to the practice, they arrive at the Inbox, where they can then be actioned upon.
o Abnormal results appear in red.
